Program Options and Features

Option 1: Medical Assistant (RMA) Program

This program spans 900 hours, including 300 hours of externship and 600 classroom hours. The curriculum covers anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, laboratory techniques, phlebotomy, EKG, and medical office administration. Students also learn medical billing, computer skills, and Microsoft Office applications to prepare for administrative tasks. Tuition is $12,400, which includes books, registration fees, and equipment.

Option 2: Clinical Medical Assistant Program

The Clinical Medical Assistant program is a 450-hour course, with 350 hours of classroom instruction and a 100-hour externship. The coursework focuses on clinical procedures, such as taking vital signs, phlebotomy, EKG, laboratory tests, and patient care. Tuition for this program is $4,999, including materials and registration.

Curriculum Highlights

Both programs feature detailed and hands-on instruction in key areas:

  • Phlebotomy: Techniques for blood drawing using syringes, evacuated tubes, and butterfly needles.
  • Electrocardiography (EKG): How to perform and interpret EKGs, including identifying rhythm abnormalities.
  • Anatomy and Physiology: Study of body systems and common diseases, along with medical terminology.
  • Laboratory Procedures: Training in specimen collection, diagnostic tests, and maintaining lab safety standards.

Medical Office Administration: Skills in scheduling, recordkeeping, patient interaction, and insurance billing.

Class Schedules

Both programs offer flexible schedules to accommodate students’ needs:

  • Morning Classes: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM (Monday-Friday, 25 weeks)
  • Evening Classes: 5:30 PM – 9:30 PM (Monday-Friday, 30 weeks)

Weekend Classes: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (Saturday-Sunday, 30 weeks)

Prerequisites

To enroll, students must meet the following requirements:

  • High school diploma, GED, or an equivalent qualification.
  • If no diploma or GED is available, students must pass the ABLE (Assessment of Basic Learning Abilities) test.
  • Valid photo ID, Social Security card, and proof of citizenship or legal residency.
